OCR is partnered with a new fund launch looking to bring in a commodities Quant/Desk Strat to help build and enhance a robust risk platform. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong technical background across quantitative development, systems architecture, and implementation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across a broad remit - bridging development, risk, and market understanding, rather than operating in a narrowly defined function.
You will work closely with the founder to implement a clearly defined vision for the platform, taking ownership of execution and driving progress independently. While the overall design direction is established, this role requires someone who can translate concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions.
Importantly, this role offers significant scope to evolve over time. For the right person, it’s an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing platform, expand into research and analysis, and ultimately shape their own role as the platform and team develop.
Key Requirements:
- Up to 10 years experience in a Desk/Risk strat or Quant Dev role.
- Proven ability to build and integrate risk analytics systems (experience with Beacon or similar platforms preferred - SecDB, Athena, Quartz etc.)
- Solid systems and architecture mindset with hands-on implementation skills
- Good understanding of financial markets; exposure to commodities is a plus
