SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within UK

LOCATION: Portsmouth (60% of your working week must be office based)

    In this exceptional role you will represent your nominated Commodities towards the whole Procurement organisation ensuring coherence between Bids & Programmes and the Supply Chain and as such define the appropriate procurement approach to meet business needs.

    Your mission will be to act as a Commodity Manager, both tactically and strategically - ensuring day to day needs are met, whilst developing supplier strategies ensuring long term objects are achieved. You will be responsible for the end to end qualitative deployment of the procurement activities through application of Airbus processes.

    How You Will Contribute To The Team

    As a Space Digital Commodity Manager you will be responsible for:

    • Acting as the focal point towards your suppliers for all procurement / purchasing matters
    • Ensuring an end to end streamlined procurement experience for your suppliers
    • Engaging with other Procurement functions and thereby supporting bids and projects including: Project Supply Managers, Contract Management, Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Quality, Supplier Development and the wider Commodity Management teams
    • Actively lead and coordinate relevant Procurement multi-functional teams
    • Devise and implement the sourcing strategies and liaise with Project Supply Managers for project needs
    • Ensure that purchasing processes are correctly and consistently applied
    • Facilitate the exchange of information and lessons learnt between projects/programmes and support functions.

    About You

    • You will have proven experience on multi-discipline projects, project management or Supplier Management
    • A degree in a business related field is desirable
    • Your communication skills are excellent and you are able to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
