As we grow our wholesale model and increase the number of young refugees we employ each year, our communications must do more than raise awareness — they must strengthen income, influence public narrative, and build long-term trust with customers, funders, and partners.
The Communications & Marketing Trustee will help us
- Develop a clear, confident, and values-led voice in an increasingly polarised media and political climate.
- Strengthen our brand positioning so that customers choose Breadwinners not only for high-quality organic products, but because they believe in our mission.
- Ensure young refugees’ voices are amplified ethically and meaningfully, shifting narratives from vulnerability to talent, contribution, and entrepreneurship.
- Align communications strategy with commercial growth, enabling us to expand wholesale partnerships and create more paid work opportunities.
- Protect and enhance our reputation as we scale.
Ultimately, stronger strategic communications directly translate into greater social impact. Increased sales mean more employment opportunities. Clearer storytelling means greater public understanding.
By joining our Board, the Trustee will not simply advise on marketing — they will help shape how young refugees are seen, heard, and valued in our communities.
Their contribution will influence both our Impact directly on young refugees accessing our programmes, and significantly influence the wider context of UK narratives towards refugees.
