Be the face of the project in the community
This isn’t a desk-based communications role. We’re looking for someone who is confident out in the community meeting residents, listening to concerns, building trust, and representing the project where it matters most: on the ground. Our work on the Lower Thames Crossing will transform journeys and support regional growth, but we know that major infrastructure can also impact people’s day-to-day lives. So, in this role you will be part of a high-profile, nationally significant project where you can see the impact of your work every day you’ll be working as part of a team that values respect, trust, and community relationships and that’s where you come in.

What you'll be doing
You Will
- Act as the face of the project for local communities, landowners, and stakeholders
- Spend time on-site and in local areas, engaging directly with people affected by the works
- Build trusted relationships through honest, clear, and timely communication
- Listen to concerns, manage expectations, and help resolve issues with empathy and professionalism
- Organise and attend community events, drop-ins, and stakeholder meetings
- Work closely with construction teams to understand upcoming activity and reduce disruption where possible
- Translate technical project information into clear, accessible updates for the public
- Handle enquiries and complaints in a way that protects relationships and builds confidence
- Monitor community sentiment and flag emerging issues early
- Help ensure the project delivers meaningful social value to the communities it serves
About You
