Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service
Applications are invited from dynamic candidates who would like to avail of the exciting opportunity for the post of a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for our new Acute Care Pathway that includes the established and well regarded CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment Service
This is a full time post (10PA 7.5 DCC and 2.5 SPA) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The Consultant is employed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and will join the twelve other NHS Consultants and two Academic Consultants in the CAMHS service. We are open to discussion about less than full time working.
The vacancy came to existence due to the internal move of a Consultant . The post was developed to provide the team with consistent psychiatry input, consultation and to strengthen the multidisciplinary nature of the team. Also to reduce the impact of responding to unplanned mental health emergency and crisis support on community CAMHS consultant clinics and to support joint working across teams.
The candidate must be approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983
This post will be based at Pebble Bridge at Hopewood but travel readily between clinical and managerial bases.
Clinical duties of post holder
Provide psychiatric assessments, including assessment of risk to self and others.
Liaison with community teams, family and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
Provision of clinical leadership to the CAMHS crisis team.
Ensure the Mental Health Act is used appropriately, providing medical recommendations for assessments taking place in the community and 136 Suites. Involvement in MHA assessments of emergency cases as part of on call duties.
To maintain good record keeping, ensure the high quality of clinical information including discharge summaries and specialist reports, and contribute to audit and outcome monitoring.
To supervise medical trainees when placed with them.
To maintain own continued professional development for re validation and to support clinical needs of the team.
