Job Description

Join us as a Controls Analyst
where you will help support strong financial processes across Crop Nutrients by making sure key controls are clearly documented and consistently followed. As our governance and reporting frameworks continue to develop, you’ll play an important role in helping ensure our financial information remains accurate and reliable.

Key accountabilities include:

Performance & Delivery

  • ICFR are the processes that help ensure financial information is accurate and reliable. You will help support developing and maintaining the ICFR documentation, including control narratives, process flowcharts, walkthrough notes, and evidence packs.
  • Working closely with business teams and control owners to ensure accurate, complete process and control documentation.
  • Supporting with monitoring and tracking the consistent execution of key ICFR controls and helping the business understand and resolve any uncertainties around control requirements.
  • Coordinating and tracking mandatory ICFR/financial reporting controls training and supporting with additional guidance or training where needed.
  • Supporting the rollout and embedding of Group Finance processes, ICFR policies, standards, and guidance within Crop Nutrients.
  • Monitoring relevant local financial regulatory changes (with guidance) and supporting the business in identifying and incorporating updates into controls and processes.
  • Contributing to behavioral and cultural initiatives to strengthen control of ownership and improve compliance discipline across the business.

  • People & Teams

    • Work effectively with peers, including control owners, and control operators, within the wider finance team to support the function to deliver on function objectives.

    Compliance

    • Work in accordance with Anglo American, Group Finance, and Crop Nutrients policies and standards.
    • Adhere to any financial governance and statuary regulations.

    Qualifications

    Essential: Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths (or equivalent)

    Desirable: 3 A‑levels (or equivalent)

    Considered: Relevant practical experience in lieu of formal qualifications. (e.g. finance, administration, controls, or audit support roles)

    Technical Knowledge

    • Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., debits/credits, financial statements).
  • Awareness of what internal controls are and why they matter in financial reporting (training provided).
  • Ability to understand and interpret process flows and identify key steps in a financial process.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as core documentation and evidence‑handling tools.
  • Awareness that financial regulations and reporting standards influence business processes (no prior depth required).
