- The Control Application Engineer Intern will work in the Control and Protections Systems Department within the HVDC unit of GE Vernova to support the design and implementation of HVDC Control and Protection Systems to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market. As an Intern you will report within the Control and Protections Systems Department. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated, dynamic and growing team of engineers working on the design of HVDC Control Systems. This is a very exciting and dynamic field of control engineering in which GE’s leading contribution has worldwide recognition.
HVDC Control & Protection Systems Engineering supports the design and implementation of HVDC Control and Protection Systems by analyzing customer requirements, assessing the necessary deviation from standard solutions, modelling the proposed HVDC control system, providing requirements for the hardware and software teams to implement and validate the resulting system.

Responsibilities
- Work as part of an expert team, giving ample opportunity for learning design and development skills highly relevant for working with any control and protection system; in particular, power electronics systems and grid technology.
The candidate will have completed 2 years of degree level in a related science such as Electrical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge or experience. However, this is not as important as a proven track record and evidence that you have the mind-set and abilities to perform the role.
Needs to be eligible to work in the UK. No Visa support will be provided.
