As the CQC Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving transformation and ensuring quality across adult social care services. You will provide leadership and support to the Live Well in Merton transformation programme while overseeing our preparedness for ongoing CQC assurance.

This high-impact role involves strategic planning, programme delivery, and quality assurance activities to ensure services are person-centred, strength-based, and fully aligned with CQC standards. The role will evolve as the CQC assurance process for 2026 onwards is announced, offering an exciting opportunity to shape future compliance and service excellence.

This is an 18 month fixed-term contract.

Social Care is special here, so come join the team

Come and work in a supportive environment at Merton Council, where you’ll do a social care role that matters in a place where you matter.

Our ‘social care roles/staff’ do important jobs, and we’re focused on looking after you so you can look after others.

Our people stay because we have a great culture, and staff tell us their colleagues are the best thing about working here.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Audits: Lead diagnostics, service evaluations, and develop a comprehensive programme plan for CQC inspection readiness.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the development of the CQC self-assessment, action plan, and post-audit activities.
  • Governance & Reporting: Maintain governance arrangements and prepare progress reports for senior stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader with:

  • In-depth knowledge of CQC assurance frameworks and adult social care legislation.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex transformation and assurance programmes.
  • A professional social work qualification is desirable but not essential.
