Job Overview

We are looking to appoint a part-time Data Clerk for Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre Data collection (ICNARC) to join the Critical Care team.

The post-holder will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities with other critical care unit staff to ensure that an efficient service is provided.

You will have a flexible approach to work, be well organised, with the ability to prioritise, and be able to work effectively as a team member, having good communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing complex data generated from the Critical Care unit.

The post holder will undertake data collection to enable participation in the Case Mix programme (CMP).

The post holder will undertake data collection for internal audit and national and local research programmes.

Ensure accurate data input and highlight any concerns regarding the data before it is fully collated and submitted to the national data base. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 (willing to work towards within 2 years) or equivalent experience
  • Good standard of secondary education
  • Ability to touch type
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality

Desirable criteria

  • NVQ level 2
  • Admin/customer care
  • Welsh speaking
  • ECDL

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Previous clerical/office experience

Desirable criteria

  • Previous NHS experience
  • WPAS/Oracle/Medicus

  • Able to use electronic information systems
  • Able to contribute constructively to a team working environment
  • Ability to use own initiative whilst understanding the need to seek advice from senior staff where necessary
