Description

Location: Support Centre, Lincoln. LN5 7DB

Hours: 39 per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £60k - £64k per annum

About the role:

At Lincolnshire Co-op, we’re passionate about using technology responsibly and securely to support our members, colleagues and communities. Our IT and Digital teams play a vital role in enabling innovation and ensuring our systems are safe, resilient and reliable. Within that, our Cyber Security function is key to protecting the Society’s data, systems and people — helping us deliver our purpose with confidence in an increasingly complex digital world.

As our Cyber Operations Manager, you’ll work with a dedicated team to deliver pro-active, high-quality threat monitoring and incident response. You’ll oversee the daily running of our Cyber Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring effective detection, analysis and management of potential threats while coordinating timely responses to incidents and vulnerabilities.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Cyber Security Manager to deliver the Society’s cyber security roadmap, aligning activity with wider business and IT objectives. This includes supporting the implementation of our governance framework, policies and standards, and collaborating across the Society — particularly with the IT Infrastructure team — to ensure consistent application of risk management and compliance controls.

You’ll also manage relationships with external partners and third-party security service providers, oversee vulnerability assessments, and produce regular security dashboards and key risk metrics for leadership teams. Beyond technical operations, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a culture of cyber awareness — supporting training and engagement programmes, contributing to audits, and embedding lessons learned to continually enhance the Society’s resilience and security posture.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong background in cyber security operations, incident response or vulnerability management, ideally within a complex IT environment. With a relevant degree in cyber security, computer science or equivalent experience, you’ll have a deep understanding of network and infrastructure security, IAM, and data protection controls, as well as familiarity with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST or CIS.

Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be matched by your ability to communicate clearly — translating technical issues into meaningful insights for non-technical audiences. You’ll be confident leading and developing a team, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining composure in fast-paced or high-stakes situations. Experience managing SOC operations, working with third-party providers, and contributing to compliance or audit activities will be key to your success.

Most importantly, you’ll share our values — acting with integrity, collaboration and purpose. You’ll be pro-active in staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies, passionate about continuous improvement, and committed to helping us safeguard the systems and data that underpin our service to colleagues, members and the wider community.

Benefits:

In addition to working for a successful co-operative business, we offer our colleagues fantastic benefits, including:

  • 34 days annual leave (including bank holidays) (pro-rata)
  • Pension scheme (with up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Generous colleague discount rates across our family of businesses

  • Private Medical Insurance, underwritten by BUPA.

We are an “Investors in People - Platinum” employer, meaning that we have been recognised as one of the country’s top employers, offering progression opportunities to all our colleagues. We'll give you the opportunity to build the skills necessary to further progress your career and help to open up future opportunities, helping to shape your career for the better.
