Job Description

We're looking for a Data Controls Analyst to join us in either Hove, London or Cardiff.

Reporting to the Group Head of Data Governance, you'll play a key role to support the sound and coherent management of Data risks, acting as a subject matter expert for Data risk management. You'll achieve this through supporting the management of controls and risk reporting, co-ordinating governance meetings, and routinely and accurately reporting governance information to a range of colleagues.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the Data Governance Risk Manager in producing a roadmap for the Data Management framework rollout and working with business, project and product teams to ensure it is successful, educating and informing stakeholders at all levels about Data Governance and GDPR, why it’s important and the benefits
  • Providing timely support, advice and guidance on the identification and quantification of data risks arising from new business activities or strategic initiatives, including managing and reviewing GDPR compliance requirements
  • Maintaining the departmental risk registers, risk maps and key controls, coordinating departmental risk forums and risk management information, maintaining audit trails and following up on agreed activity, identifying issues requiring escalation and working with individual owners to address them with mitigation plans or formal risk acceptance
  • Being responsible for proactive communications on risk management, routinely producing and analysing risk management information and reports
  • Ensuring that the principles of Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty are embedded into day‑to‑day operations to deliver good customer outcomes, ensuring that all business processes and internal controls within the role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • You should have a good understanding of data management concepts such as Data Governance, Data Ownership, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Control Frameworks, Data Architecture and Data Analysis
  • A strong aptitude for analysis and requirements gathering
  • Relevant risk management experience
  • Prior experience of implementing controls and frameworks
  • Professional Data Governance and GDPR compliance qualifications would be a huge plus!

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience

  • Additional Information

At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all.

If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.
