Deputy Design Manager – Architect – Healthcare

Laing O'Rourke is looking for a Deputy Design Manager to join our team on the landmark Monklands Replacement Hospital project in Glasgow.

This is a unique opportunity to help deliver a nationally significant healthcare facility that will serve generations to come. You'll be contributing to a major project that leverages cutting-edge digital tools, modern construction techniques, and collaborative design thinking.

👷‍♀️ What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Design Manager in leading multi-disciplinary teams across architecture, civil and structural engineering, MEP, and clinical planning
• Coordinating the development of integrated design solutions across workstreams
• Engaging closely with consultants, internal stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure design intent is realised
• Contributing to the implementation of modern methods of construction (MMC) and digital design processes
• Helping drive technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation across the project lifecycle
  
  

🎯 We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has experience supporting or managing design on large, complex projects - ideally in the healthcare or public infrastructure sectors
• Comes from an architectural background, with a good grasp of multi-disciplinary coordination
• Understands the design process across RIBA stages and can manage technical information efficiently
• Is proactive, detail-focused, and thrives in collaborative environments
