Clayfields House Secure Children’s Home accommodates up to 20 children and young people aged between 10-17, from a range of backgrounds and circumstances providing care, education, planned group and individual experiences to those who are deemed to require secure accommodation on either custodial or welfare grounds.
This post has overall strategic responsibility for all front of house services, this includes reception, administration, finance, catering, facilities and our dedicated domestic teams. This role also undertakes the strategic responsibility for the overall security, health and safety of the service.
Other Main Responsibilities Of The Post Include
- The day-to-day upkeep of buildings, surrounds, perimeters and Business Support staff, through the implementation of effective management, inspection and maintenance procedures and supervision of the Facilities, Catering and the Business Managers, alongside the strategic responsibility for their respective teams.
- Testing of all security and fire detection systems in accordance with procedure is the responsibility of the post holder.
- The post holder will monitor and ensure the efficient operation of essential services, machinery and equipment including air conditioning, auxiliary power generation, heating / lighting, CCTV, paging and other electronic systems and associated control mechanisms associated with a secure establishment.
- The role has responsibility for a large budget, this service operates as a business unit, as it generates its own funds through the procurement of government contracts.
- The service is supported by a staff group of around 155 people, and you will not only be supported by the Service Manager but also by four colleagues who have strategic oversight of Care, Education, Interventions and Health.
- The role will also have strategic responsibility for all ICT developments, including those that are utilised by other departments. Operating as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder is responsible for ensuring a high standard of Health, Safety and Welfare for staff, visitors and the young people that reside at Clayfields House.
