The South East Genomic Medicine Service (GMS) is recruiting a Deputy Service Manager to play a key role in supporting operational delivery, ensuring performance against contractual key performance indicators. You would join a dynamic and enthusiastic team who are committed to embedding genomic medicine across the region. This role will work across clinical specialties and sit within an established structure that enables collaborative working and continued development.

Job description
Operational Performance Management and Contract Management Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to monitor and track performance against agreed targets within the service Develop and implement a robust performance management framework for all GMS Sub-Contractors in line with the NHSE Prime Contract. Prepare and delivery operational performance management reports for presentation at relevant Programme Delivery Boards. Manage the contractual reporting requirements and document submissions to NHSE. Develop and write policies and standardised procedures within own work area. Manage the analysis of data so the senior management team have access to timely and accurate information on all key performance indicators. Develop thorough understanding of all areas within the department including management of pathways and the use of complex data sets Supporting the Operational Director ins resolving day-to-day performance issues. Arrange and plan certain key meetings, taking accurate minutes when required. Support the management team by preparing presentations. Liaise with other departments and members of the Trust to support the smooth running and functioning of the department/service. Project Management Support the developmen
t of project plans and the delivery of agreed milestones and objectives. Provide project support to the individuals in the project team. Lead service level workshops with admin, management and clinical teams. Produce presentation material and follow up information to introduce change projects and delivery plans. Communicate project(s) progress and provide highlight and exception reports per project to stakeholders and senior project leads. Communicate information on the delivery progress of the project(s) to key stakeholders as required. Provide scheduled highlight and exception reports per project, tracking milestones, for circulation to more senior project leads Arrange and plan certain key meetings, cCo-ordinate minutes, agendas and papers for distribution in preparation for meetings, ensuring this is done in a timely manner. Support evaluation and audit of projects across sites and organisations. Liaise with other departments and members of the Trust to support the smooth running and functioning of the department/service. Quality, Risk and Governance Manage the implementation and overall management of performance management systems, control processes and risk management arrangements to ensure effective reporting compliance. Support the monitoring of compliance with internal and external governance and best practice requirements Information management Maintain service information management systems to produce timely and accurate reports. Work with the Senior Data Analyst to maintain data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data, including quantitative and qualitative data. Interpret policies and protocols to support the service that are consistent with Trust standards Financial Management Manage a delegated budget for own area of work to ensure best value for money, including signing off invoices, monitoring expenditure and providing budgetary reports. Actively monitor expenditure against budget and address problems at an early stage. Support the commissioning and procurement of products, equipment, services, systems and facilities, as required for the delivery of the project. Strategy, change and service improvement Responsible for the design and implementation of audits in collaboration with the Senior Data Analyst. Undertake specific service improvement actions under supervision of the Operational Director. Support the delivery of agreed change and service improvement projects and initiatives.

Part of the national NHS Genomic Medicine Service--bringing together seven GMS regions and 17 regional clinical genetics services--the South East GMS covers South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. We deliver standardised genomic testing pathways aligned to the National Genomic Test Directory and support the integration of genomic medicine into routine care.
