The salary for the post will be the range of £35,372 - £39,834 per annum, depending on experience.
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 280 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 43 Fellows). The College’s development activities are essential to its future. The Office fundraises for the College, organises a wide range of events and produces publications for alumni.
The Development Officer has three main responsibilities. First, growing our annual fund income through our telephone campaign, our 1284 Circle (annual giving), direct mail, digital fundraising, and Cambridge in America. Second, promoting legacy giving, including through growing membership of the William Stone Society (our legacy society) and managing an annual legacy drive. Third, carrying out prospect research and due diligence to support the fundraising efforts of the Development Director and Deputy Development Director.
The successful applicant will have high-level, demonstrative experience from working within development or an equivalent results-based environment (such as management consultancy, business development or corporate sales), and be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will have good knowledge of CRM databases, together with the ability to write to persuade and tailor presentation of information to different audiences and context. You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills to maximise outcomes against multiple competing priorities, as well as being a strong team-player and with an ability to work independently.
