A technology consultancy supporting a major UK public sector policing programme is building a platform engineering team to support a mission-critical operational system.
They are looking for a Senior Engineer with strong Elasticsearch expertise to maintain and evolve a secure legacy platform where Elasticsearch powers core operational search services. The client will consider DevOps Engineers, Platform Engineers, or Backend Developers with strong hands-on Elasticsearch experience.

What You'll Do:
- • Support and operate Elasticsearch clusters used for operational search services
- • Design and optimise indexes, search schemas, and query performance
- • Integrate Elasticsearch into Java-based services and microservices
- • Build and maintain JSON-based ingestion pipelines and dashboards (Logstash / Kibana)
- • Monitor cluster health, indexing performance, and query latency
- • Support and improve secure legacy infrastructure and services
What We're Looking For:
- Strong hands-on experience operating Elasticsearch clusters
- Experience using Elasticsearch as a core application search engine (not just ELK logging)
- Knowledge of index design, ingestion pipelines, shard allocation, and search tuning
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and scripting skills
- Experience with containerisation or virtualised environments
Active SC clearance is strongly preferred.
