DevOps Engineer

At Harvey Nash, our client is seeking to recruit a DevOps Engineer on a permanent basis. The role is based in Edinburgh and offers a hybrid working arrangement (a couple of days per week onsite in a state-of-the-art office environment).

This role acts as the technical bridge between Delivery and the Platforms team, ensuring software engineering teams can effectively consume platform capabilities. You will remove friction, automate CI/CD pipelines, and embed modern DevSecOps and AI-enabled practices.

With a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code, optimisation of containerised workloads, and mentoring developers to adopt a “you build it, you run it” mentality, this role provides the autonomy to influence how software is delivered within your area.

Responsibilities include:

• Define infrastructure requirements and feedback loops to ensure architecture aligns with delivery needs.
• Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to enable secure, rapid application delivery.
• Act as a technical enabler, upskilling delivery teams in cloud-native practices, containerisation, and platform tooling, while championing AI assistants to reduce boilerplate code and infrastructure overhead.
• Collaborate to diagnose complex infrastructure issues, improve telemetry and monitoring, and enhance system resilience.
• Embed application security and compliance checks into the deployment lifecycle.
