The Director, Strategic Projects is a key thought leader within Fluence’s sales & marketing organization, responsible for identifying, analyzing, and executing high-impact initiatives that accelerate Fluence’s commercial evolution. This role is focused on developing new commercial offerings, exploring new market opportunities, and supporting investment decisions through rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis. The Director will manage cross-functional projects, drive strategic proposals, and ensure measurable outcomes aligned with Fluence’s growth objectives. Key Responsibilities
New Commercial Offerings & Market Opportunities
- Lead and execute a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, acting as an internal consultant across commercial, financial, and operational domains.
- Lead the identification and design of new commercial offerings and market entry opportunities in the battery storage solutions market.
- Develop and pilot innovative business models and go-to-market strategies tailored to emerging market needs.
- Structure and evaluate external partnerships with financial institutions, insurers, and strategic partners to enable scalable growth.
- Conduct detailed investment analysis, including financial modeling and electricity market analysis, to support strategic proposals and business cases.
- Develop and support investment cases and strategic proposals with data-driven insights and financial modeling.
- Develop frameworks for evaluating project economics, risk, and compliance.
- Prepare and present investment cases and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Manage multiple strategic projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Collaborate with teams across sales, finance, marketing, legal, product, and supply chain to drive integrated decision-making and execution.
- Prepare executive-level materials for internal and external audiences, including proposals and strategic updates.
- Exposure to Senior Leadership: Regularly present strategic recommendations and project outcomes to executive leadership, gaining visibility and influence at the highest levels of the organization.
- High-Impact Projects: Lead initiatives that directly shape Fluence’s commercial strategy and market positioning, providing opportunities to make a tangible impact on company growth.

- 6+ years in commercial strategy, investment analysis, and/or electricity market analysis.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and operate as an internal consultant on a wide array of commercial activities.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, with a preference for electricity project investment modeling experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in clean electricity, renewables, or adjacent sectors.
