We are currently partnering with a national charity who are looking for a Director of Governance to join their team in a newly created role on a permanent basis.
The position will offer predominantly home working, with travel to London required for meetings on an ad hoc basis. The salary is £72,000 per annum, and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing strategic leadership and oversight of the governance and data protection functions
- Championing best practice in information governance, risk management, corporate compliance and statutory contract management
- Overseeing the organisation’s policy framework, ensuring governance policies meet legal & organisational requirements and best practice
- Acting as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the organisation, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
- Leading on the risk management strategy for the organisation, ensuring processes are in place to identify, assess and mitigate risk
- Developing and implementing an information governance framework to ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations
- Providing strategic oversight of ISO accreditation processes (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001), ensuring operational alignment with standards
- Line managing an established team of corporate and information governance professionals
Experience required:
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the not-for-profit sector, or will have relevant sector experience
- Previous experience managing a team virtually
- Very strong experience in both corporate and information governance
- Successful candidates will be required to process a Standard DBS
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Highly familiar with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the role
- Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
