Distribution Technician - Tonbridge/ Tunbridge Wells

Your core role is to manage our mains network and provide vital face to face technical support to our customers, ensuring they get wholesome water 24/7.

This role is all about ensuring the integrity of our water supply system and being the main technical face for our customers. You'll manage critical network operations like mains shutdowns , supervise contractors , and use your expertise to resolve customer water supply issues directly.

Main Responsibilities:

• Day to day work is focused on keeping the network flowing and supporting our customers.
• Plan and prioritise your allocated work to make sure customer appointments are met.
• Perform essential network operations, such as mains shutdowns, completing all necessary risk assessments and interruption reports.

What you'll need:

• A full, clean manual driving license.
• A good standard of secondary education, showing good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Strong Customer Service Skills.
• The ability to work effectively alone with minimal supervision, often outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Confident in using IT systems, data entry, and understanding of work management systems.
• Experience in handling customer complaints or queries

The Work Pattern

We operate on a rotating shift pattern, giving you full visibility of your schedule well in advance. Our standard Monday to Friday shifts include:

• Early: 07:00 am – 15:00 pm
• Day: 08:00 am – 16:00 pm
• Mid: 09:00 am – 17:00 pm
• Late: 11:00 am – 19:00 pm

You will also work Saturdays (07:00 am – 14:30 pm) on a scheduled basis.

Standby & Extra Earnings

Once you are fully trained and confident in the role, you’ll join our out-of-hours standby rota. This ensures our customers/operations are supported around the clock and offers you a significant dip in the "extra pay" pot:

• Standby Allowance: Average of £1,800 per annum.
• Call-Out Pay: Additional overtime rates apply if you are called out during your standby shift.

Compensation package:

£31,337 to £39,533 depending on experience
