A vacancy has arisen for a new specialist
Dual Diagnosis (Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use)
Recovery Worker role based in Preston and Central Lancashire, working as part of Lancashire wide team who support people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues. This role will work closely with community and inpatient mental health services, creating joint recovery plans to support individuals care needs.
We’re looking for a committed professional to support individuals with complex co-existing mental health and substance use needs. Many of our clients face additional challenges such as neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, unstable housing, poor health, safeguarding concerns, and limited support networks.
You’ll manage a dedicated caseload and work flexibly across the community, offering assertive outreach and in-reach support in diverse settings — from GP surgeries and mental health services to substance misuse hubs and supported accommodation.
This is a mobile, hands-on role suited to someone resilient, empathetic, and motivated to drive change where it matters.

Hours Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type Permanent
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary, allowances and holidays will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
About The Role
- Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users, with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs, reducing re-presentations and bringing about positive client outcomes.
