Description
Duty Worker Short Term Breaks | 9885 | Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract until April 2027| 37 hours per week | £28,598 to £31,022 per annum | Grade F | County Hall

The Short Breaks Team are currently working with over 3500 children with disabilities aged 5 – 17 and require an additional full time Duty Worker to cover the Maternity leave of the post holder until April 2027.

Families self-refer to the service and we are currently receiving over 100 new applications each month as well as reviewing each child’s Short Break Plan annually. Additionally, we provide advice to Social Workers and other professionals about the team and the services offered.

You will need to be a confident communicator as you will be the first point of contact for families seeking general advice and information about short breaks, as well as responding to phone calls, emails and portal requests from families either already receiving short breaks, or from families wishing to apply. You will also need to enjoy working as part of a team and be able to prioritise your work whilst responding to the needs of the team.

You will need to have a working knowledge of LCS, be able to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and support the team to ensure that funding offered to families via a direct payment is used correctly, whilst also supporting the Short Break Managers and Coordinators to ensure all work is processed and completed within agreed timescales.

Please note there is a requirement to work at County Hall at least one day each week.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
