Job Description

Position: Early Years Learning Assistant

Salary: :Scale 3- 5 dependent on qualification and experience

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week – Part Time 7.30am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday, Term time only.

Contract Term: One year fixed term ending 31/05/2027 ( with the possibility to extend)

Closing Date: Friday 1st May 2026

Interviews: Week Beginning 4th May 2026

Start date : May/June 2026

St Michael’s CofE Primary School and Nursery is an oversubscribed, vibrant school with an excellent reputation in the local and wider community. Our children are enthusiastic, inquisitive and eager to learn.

We are looking to appoint a hardworking, motivated Early Years practitioner. Working within our nursery team you will act as a key person for a group of children providing each child with continuity of care and learning throughout the child’s time at St Michael’s nursery.

At St Michaels we offer dedicated Early Years wraparound care. This role covers the provision of Breakfast Club within our nursery from 7.30 – 9am.

Ideally you should have a level 3 childcare qualification. We require individuals who are committed to working within the framework of the school’s policies and ethos and who will contribute to the development of the whole school.
