The opportunity
We're looking for a detail-oriented Medical Editor to play a central, embedded role across one or more client accounts, ensuring the highest standards of quality across a wide range of medical communications deliverables. In this role, you'll provide expert proofreading, copyediting, styling, and formatting support across multiple formats, helping to bring complex scientific content to life with clarity, consistency, and precision.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate closely with Medical, Account, and Creative colleagues within Envision Medical Communications to deliver accurate, polished outputs on time and within budget. With a high level of autonomy and ownership, you'll become a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, helping maintain excellence across every stage of content development.

Role responsibilities
- Provide high-quality proofreading, copyediting, styling, and formatting across a broad range of medical communications deliverables, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Apply editorial standards, client style guides, and regulatory/compliance knowledge (eg, AMA Manual of Style, disclosure standards, copyright) to maintain quality across all outputs.
Do you have what we are looking for?
Skills & expertise
- Previous experience in editing, proofreading, or copyediting required; experience working with medical, scientific, or technical content preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Exceptional command of written English (or relevant client language), with strong grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with the ability to format and edit complex documents.
- Solid understanding of editorial principles, including consistency, clarity, structure, and style application.
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat and familiarity with reference management, data visualization/graphing, and project management tools is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
