Role Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer supporting the Electrical Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in the delivery of infrastructure and asset development projects at a major dockyard facility. You will work across various stages of project delivery, from scoping and design through to implementation, testing and commissioning. Your technical input will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing facility infrastructure to meet operational, safety, and compliance requirements.
While the Electrical Engineering Lead will oversee and guide your work, your role will require a hands-on, detail-oriented approach and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering Lead to gather technical requirements and assist in translating them into workable electrical engineering solutions.
- Contribute to the design and development of modifications to existing systems and the implementation of new infrastructure, ensuring compliance with electrical standards and site regulations.
Work Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
- Typically 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, oil and gas etc. ).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in dockyard, defence, marine, or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of HV (High Voltage) electrical systems.
- Knowledge of building services integration or backup power systems.
- Experience with design tools such as ETAP or similar is an advantage.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and multi-project environments.
