This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.

The Electrical Lead Design Engineer will lead and deliver electrical design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations, and networks. The role involves managing electrical design from feasibility through detailed design and construction support, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. Responsibilities include technical leadership of design teams, design review and approval, coordination with mechanical, civil, and process disciplines, and engagement with clients and contractors. The role supports efficient, resilient, and sustainable asset delivery across clean and wastewater programmes.

What You’ll Bring

You will oversee mechanical calculations, specifications, and drawings, provide guidance to junior engineers, and support construction and commissioning activities. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on delivering efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions within programme and budget constraints.
What You’ll Bring
- Valid clean driving licence
- Have a good knowledge of water and waste water systems. Including associated MEICA equipment and the relationship between the two, either through previous experience or education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered or working toward chartership (IMechE or equivalent)
- Significant experience in water/wastewater treatment projects
- Proven leadership of mechanical design teams
- Strong knowledge of pumps, pipework, rotating equipment
- Experience with UK water standards and CDM regulations
- Ability to interface with clients, contractors, and regulators
- Proficiency in design software and engineering calculations
