Emergency Planning Officer

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response (EPRR) Team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) as an Emergency Planning Officer.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in Business Continuity to join our small but dynamic team. As an Emergency Planning Officer you will work with the EPRR Team to deliver an effective EPRR and Business Continuity service, supporting internal and external stakeholders to ensure a robust and resilient NHS response to any incident or disruptive event.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

• Educated to undergraduate degree level in a relevant field or equivalent NHS EPRR experience.

Desirable

• Educated to master's degree level.
• Business continuity qualification.
• Training or teaching qualification.
• Diploma in Health Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (DipHEPRR).
• Evidence of professional development in the field of emergency planning and business continuity.

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

• Understanding of emergency planning and business continuity legislation.

Desirable

• Knowledge of national NHS policy in emergency planning and business continuity.
• Experience delivering training.
• Experience of involvement in 'live' major incident exercise(s) and real incidents.
• Experience in emergency planning and / or business continuity within the NHS.
• Experience of managing and maintaining effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience of working with a variety of external agencies.

Skills and Ability

Essential

• Working understanding of risk assessment and management.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions.
• High functioning interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Desirable

• Able to conduct audits.
• Confident in interacting with colleagues across all levels within the organisation.
