experienced Interim Employee Relations Manager who can hit the ground running, untangle a backlog of cases, and strengthen how we support our people.

- Lead the charge on complex ER cases — from grievances and disciplinaries to absence management and performance concerns.
- Be the go-to adviser for managers and HR colleagues, offering confident, legally sound, and timely guidance.
- Clear a backlog of cases with efficiency, fairness, and care — while keeping new cases on track from day one.
- Shape better processes, smarter reporting, and stronger data insights to prevent issues before they start.
- Coach and empower managers and HR Advisors so they can handle ER challenges informally and with confidence.
- Promote early resolution, mediation, and proactive problem-solving at every opportunity.
About You
You’ll be a seasoned ER professional who can balance compassion with compliance. You know your employment law inside-out, you’re at ease influencing senior leaders, and you bring a pragmatic, solution-focused mindset to even the trickiest situations.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven track record in employee relations, HR advisory, or ER management.
- Expert knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
- Exceptional people skills — influencing, coaching, and building trust at all levels.
- Strong analytical ability to turn ER data into action.
- The confidence to make decisions and drive cases forward.
Nice to Have
- Experience in local government or the public sector.
- Mediation or mental health first aid training.
- CIPD qualification.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £47,181- £51,357. The
starting salary is £47,181 with annual progression through the salary bands.
