Safe Families UK is a Christian charity that partners with children's services to support families in crisis by connecting them with local volunteers. The organization helps families facing isolation by providing practical, emotional, and social support, including temporary care for children when needed. Since its founding in 2013, Safe Families UK has expanded its efforts across the North East, North West, Midlands, South and South West, Scotland, and Wales, working closely with local authorities.
Role Description
This role is a hybrid part-time role 0.9/4 day but full time would be considered. As an Engagement and Support Coordinator, you will help turn interest into action. It’s about responding to, facilitating and supporting those who seek to play their part in our mission through financial giving, praying, volunteering their time to work with families or pursuing fostering, adoption or supported lodgings.
The team guides individuals as they translate their initial response into relevant actions, and supports them for the long haul. There are three interconnected aspects of the Engagement and Support Team’s work:
• Acting as the front door to the charity translating initial responses into tangible action.
• Helping those who respond to know how they can play their part and what they need to do next to achieve this.
• Holding those who respond and ensuring they are afforded connection and belonging in the long term both while they play their part and while they await their next opportunity.
You would work as part of the Engagement and Support team which includes staff who are located across the Midlands. You will need to be able to easily travel and work across the West Midlands.
Skills & Abilities
- Educated to degree level
- Experience of building rapport and relationships with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds
- Experience of guiding supporters and referring/signposting in a timely manner.
- Able to respond and interact with others promptly and effectively over a variety of mediums; in person, by phone and virtually.
- Able to work within and lead the team to support and help others as needed.
- Able to produce strong written communications and provide Quality Assurance to team member’s work and assessments.
