Are you an Engine rating looking for a great work-life balance? Stena Line is recruiting Engine Ratings with passenger vessel experience to join The team onboard Stena Estrid sailing between Holyhead-Dublin!

As an Engine Rating, you will work with planned maintenance jobs, operational duties and general maintenance of vessel parts managed by the Chief/ Second engineer. The job also includes cleaning, painting and greasing.

Some Of Your Key Responsibilities

  • Acting in accordance with your responsibilities in the vessel's emergency organisation.
  • Carrying out engine room watch-keeping duties as directed.
  • Carrying out engine room fire and safety patrols as directed.
  • Assisting in maintaining all engine room firefighting and safety equipment as directed by the second engineer.
  • Be familiar with the relevant parts, procedures and requirements of the SMS contained within the DOCMAP system.
  • Take an active interest in the duties above your rank to ensure confidence in stepping up and the ability to be hands-on.

    The Must-Haves

    • Fluent in English
    • Valid right to work in the UK and UK National Insurance number
    • Basic STCW training and ENG1 certificates
    • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat training
    • Engine Watch Rating certificate (III/4) OR Able Seafarer Engine (III/5) CoC
    • Passenger vessel experience is preferred but not essential
