We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (Environments) to lead the design, reliability, and evolution of our software-driven engineering environments within a regulated financial services organisation.
This role focuses on building and operating scalable, secure, and automated environments that enable product engineering teams to deliver safely and quickly. You'll lead teams responsible for environment management, CI/CD integration, and observability, while driving large-scale modernisation and technical debt reduction programmes across legacy and cloud-native estates.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop a team of platform and environment engineers focused on software-defined infrastructure, automation, and observability.
- Own the lifecycle of engineering environments across production and non-production.
- Ensure environments are consistently release-ready, supporting modern deployment practices while meeting financial services change and governance controls.
- Drive automation and standardisation using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, tightly integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
About you
- Strong engineering leadership experience with a software or platform-first mindset, ideally in regulated or complex environments.
- Proven experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.
Interview process
The interview process for this role is two stages including technical competency-based questions and a task.
Working Schedule
This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
