About The Role
Are you a seasoned engineering professional who thrives on keeping complex plant assets running — reliably, safely and efficiently?
We’re looking for an engineering asset and maintenance specialist to ensure the effective management, maintenance and operational availability for 100–150 pieces of engineering plant and equipment (ranging from £5,000 to £3M in value).
You’ll manage internal technicians, external contractors and the full maintenance lifecycle — ensuring uptime, compliance and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and oversee asset-management strategies and maintenance schedules (using CMMS).
- Monitor asset performance, reliability and lifecycle costs — recommend improvements.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions when issues arise.
- Ensure all work meets safety, regulatory and quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, 45001) .
- Manage and optimise the annual maintenance budget.
- Lead and support maintenance technician(s); coordinate external contractors & suppliers.
- Act as key liaison between Engineering, Estates, Operations, Procurement and Quality teams .
What We’re Looking For
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Asset Management or related discipline — or proven track record in similar roles
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering assets and maintenance teams
- Experience with maintenance best practices, regulatory compliance and contractor management
- Budget management skills and familiarity with CMMS
- Strong ownership and accountability — you drive real-world results
- Excellent communicator and collaborator — can engage stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety and reliability
