At Octavius, we're seeking an Estimator to join our expanding regional civil engineering team, supporting the delivery of essential works across highways, earthworks, drainage, utilities, structures, public realm improvements, and wider infrastructure schemes. • Working with engineering and delivery teams to analyse method-related costs, temporary works, traffic management, access constraints, and site logistics.
  • Supporting the preparation of tender summaries, risk registers, and written technical and commercial submissions.
  • Contributing to commercial strategy discussions and helping hand over successful bids to delivery teams.
  • Seeking feedback and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

  • Who you'll work with

You'll join a collaborative, motivated team delivering projects across a variety of regional civil engineering frameworks and client portfolios. At Octavius, relationships matter. You'll work closely with bid teams, project managers, commercial managers, planners, engineers, suppliers, and client representatives. Our clients include major organisations across the infrastructure and local authority sectors, giving you the opportunity to contribute to high-profile, safety-critical projects.

    What You'll Receive

We offer a competitive rewards package, including:

    • Company Car scheme
    • Private Healthcare
    • Pension and Life Assurance

    • Hybrid working where possible
    • Enhanced Paternity & Maternity packages
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development

  • About you

You're an estimator with experience in civil engineering, groundworks, or infrastructure projects. You bring:

    • Experience preparing cost estimates, ideally from first principles, for civil engineering or infrastructure schemes.
    • Understanding of Method of Measurement and experience preparing Bills of Quantities.
    • Knowledge of construction techniques across earthworks, drainage, utilities, highways, structures, and temporary works.
    • Strong IT skills and familiarity with estimating software.
    • A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • A proactive, detail-driven approach and a passion for building strong working relationships and improving processes.
