Job Description

The EV Charging Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, costing, and build of electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects. The role focuses on installation planning, equipment selection, supplier coordination, and cost estimation to support the deployment of reliable and scalable EV charging networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and build of EV charging infrastructure installations.

  • Develop cost estimates and pricing models for charging infrastructure projects. 💰

  • Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for charging equipment and installation components.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to obtain equipment pricing and technical specifications.

  • Support site assessments and feasibility studies for charging station deployment.

  • Assist in planning installation activities, including civil works, electrical connections, and equipment placement.

  • Evaluate manufacturing and installation costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Work with project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective infrastructure build.

  • Support commissioning and testing of charging stations.

  • Prepare technical documentation, cost reports, and build schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Energy Engineering

    • Civil or Infrastructure Engineering

Required Skills

  • Understanding of EV charging infrastructure systems.

  • Knowledge of electrical installation and power distribution systems. ⚡

  • Experience with cost estimation and infrastructure project pricing.

  • Ability to develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and installation cost breakdowns.

  • Familiarity with charging hardware and installation components.

  • Strong coordination skills with contractors, suppliers, and engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with charging station deployment projects.

  • Knowledge of grid connections and electrical infrastructure upgrades

.

  • Familiarity with EV charging standards such as CCS and CHAdeMO.

  • Experience working with charging infrastructure providers such as ChargePoint, BP Pulse, or Shell Recharge.
