Fabric Operative

Goring Hall Hospital

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £34,000.00per year
(depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Fabric Operative to join their team of staff in the Engineering department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all works are completed to agreed timeframes and standards.
  • Carry out minor works and fabric-related repairs to maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and support to on-site Engineering Operatives, ensuring work is delivered safely and effectively.
  • Provide technical support and ensure engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to coordinate on-site works, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in line with hospital standards.
  • Provide cover across cluster sites to support holiday, sickness, or vacancy needs, ensuring continuity of engineering services.

  • Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

    • City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience managing engineering or maintenance services in a hospital or complex facilities environment.
    • Experience in leading teams and delegating work within an engineering setting.
    • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, including compliance with Legionella prevention and fire safety protocols.
    • CSCS card (or ECS card if electrically qualified) at the appropriate level
