Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Help Lead Practitioner to join our Children and Family Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, where you can contribute to the delivery of high-quality family help services.

The Role

Responsibilities

As a Family Help Lead Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Team Manager in the effective operation of the Family Help service. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating the delivery of family help services to ensure the needs of children and families are met
  • Conducting assessments and providing appropriate interventions to support families in achieving positive outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure integrated service delivery
  • Supervising and supporting the work of Family Help Practitioners, providing guidance and advice as necessary
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the service through participation in evaluation and development activities

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience working within a family help or similar environment, with a sound understanding of the needs of children and families
  • Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to effectively support families in making positive changes
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in relation to child welfare and safeguarding

Please note this role is fixed term for 3 years from start date - Funding limited project
