This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and child centred person to join the county wide Court Team and work closely with Social Workers, children and their families as a Family Support Worker. There are two post available, 1 part time (3 days) and 1 Full Time post.

Nottinghamshire is committed to working in a strength-based way with children and families. It is essential that you want to work with and empower families to achieve change and improve outcomes for themselves with the support available to them. Achieving good outcomes for children is at the centre of what we do. The court team is a busy team and will be required to ‘think on your feet’, build positive relationships with children, their families and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes. You will have a high level of personal drive. You will need to have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to engage and build positive relationships with adults and children during stressful and challenging times will be required. You must be able to work well in a busy team and ensure you share information with the social workers and team managers on tasks undertaken and progress made.

Nottinghamshire County Council

  • Promotes flexible working including working from home or other countywide offices.
  • Will offer regular and effective supervision.
  • Good levels of business and admin support.
  • A comprehensive range of CPD options.

This is an excellent opportunity to find out if Social Work is for you and to gain experience in this area.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
