About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our dynamic Cardiology team. This exciting opportunity involves working within our Fast Access Chest Pain Clinic (FACPC) and across the Urgent & Emergency Care Pathway. As an ACP, you will provide patient-centred care for adults presenting with a range of complex cardiac conditions, focusing on chest pain assessment and diagnosis. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on patient care through admission avoidance and innovative service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Fast Access Chest Pain Clinic, providing expert assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with suspected cardiac chest pain.
  • Take the lead in ensuring timely risk stratification, offering evidence-based treatment options, and educating patients on lifestyle modifications.
  • Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient pathways, including admission avoidance and safe discharge.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of clinical systems, processes, and care pathways.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Current professional registration with a relevant professional regulator (e.g., NMC, HCPC, GPhC).
    • Completion of a recognised Advanced Clinical Practitioner programme which is in line with the HEE 2017 Multi-Professional Advanced Clinical Practice framework or equivalent.
    • A robust clinical portfolio is mandatory, and this should demonstrate that the applicant has achieved core and speciality competencies across a broad clinical base. Evidence of a final sign off must be included.
    • Demonstrate successful completion of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or academic equivalence through an ePortfolio-supported route.
    • Extensive experience in cardiology, with a strong understanding of chest pain management, heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiac rehabilitation.
    • Expertise in fast access chest pain assessments and clinical decision-making within an emergency or acute setting.
  • Independent non-medical prescriber qualification.
  • Advanced Life Support provider (ALS).
  • IRMER regulation certificate.
  • Significant post registration experience in Cardiology.
  • Involvement with scope of practice development

  • Desirable

    • Heart Failure or Cardiac Rehabilitations Qualification
    • ALS instructor.
    • Digital Badge Advanced Practice.
    • Non-Medical Requestor Blood and Blood Products.
