As a Finance Assistant at the Franklin, you will help to form the backbone of our Institute's daily operations. Your diligence will ensure that our records are maintained correctly so that our scientists can focus on their research. You will work collaboratively with both operations and scientific divisions. There is room for growth in the position and a ‘can-do’ attitude is essential in the role.
As a Finance Assistant, you may be assigned a range of the duties outlined below. Responsibilities will be allocated appropriately to ensure proper segregation of duties is maintained:
• General administrative support to the finance function, keeping accurate records, electronic filing, reporting etc.
• Processing of supplier invoices.
• Preparation of weekly payment runs.
• Reconciliation of Bank Account.
• Supplier statement reconciliations and following up on queries.
• Forging effective working relationship with teams to ensure costs are captured and paid in a timely manner.
• Responding to queries and maintaining the finance team’s email inboxes.
• Checking and querying purchase orders and expense claims.
• Taking and circulating team meeting minutes.
• Other ad hoc duties as required.
Working toward:
• Preparing and posting internal recharges, prepayments and other journals where required.
• Reviewing and analysing Aged Creditors.
• Balancing sheet reconciliations namely Credit Card/Prepayments/Trade Creditors/Suspense.
• Reconciliation of credit card statements.
