Job Summary

Following Cyted’s recent series B funding round completion, this year is going to be the biggest so far. We are therefore looking for a motivated Finance Assistant Manager to join as we scale across the UK & US. You will be at the core of ensuring our day-to-day operations are efficient and effective, collaborating internally with the finance team, and externally with cross-functional teams.

You will contribute to building scalable processes, functions and systems, whilst maintaining day-to-day functions with a keen eye for streamlining output. Supporting the preparation and review of month-end reporting, you will ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of financial information. This will include analysing and interpreting financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights to support decision-making across the business.

Working Pattern and Location

The role is a full-time position with a standard 37.5 hour working week. The role holder may be required to work flexibly, especially during the month end close process.

What You Will Be Doing

Financial Operations & Control

• Provide proactive financial and ad-hoc support to enable the smooth day-to-day running of a fast-paced finance function across the UK & US.
• Manage end-to-end processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier invoices, and employee expenses with accuracy and efficiency.
• Reconcile supplier statements and bank accounts in a timely manner to ensure strong financial governance.
• Maintain robust internal controls in line with company policies and best practice standards.
• Support payment runs and actively monitor cash balances to optimise working capital management.
  
  

Financial Reporting, Entity Ownership & Compliance

• Take ownership of the UK entity accounts within Xero, ensuring integrity and accuracy.

Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including single-entity reporting, transfer pricing entries, and consolidation journals for Financial Controller review.

Support year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit deliverables, and financial reporting requirements.

Maintain and efficiently update the fixed asset register to ensure accurate capitalisation and depreciation tracking.

Process Improvement & Strategic Support

• Consistently identify and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency, scalability, and financial accuracy as the business grows across the UK & US.
• Track grant-funded projects and support the preparation of grant claims, ensuring compliance and timely recovery of funds.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and support.
