About The Role

Shape the financial future of one of the UK’s largest offshore infrastructure portfolios.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Balfour Beatty Regional Scotland as a Finance Manager on our ASTI Offshore portfolio — a landmark programme of work valued at circa £1bn, supporting the UK’s energy transition and offshore infrastructure.

Based primarily in Motherwell, you’ll be at the heart of delivery, partnering closely with senior project leaders and influencing decisions that genuinely matter.

What you'll be doing

This is a broad, influential role with real variety and responsibility, including:

  • Leading financial management for complex offshore construction projects
  • Owning budgets, forecasts, cost control and cash flow for multi‑million‑pound workstreams
  • Delivering insightful financial and commercial reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Acting as a key business partner, shaping decisions through clear analysis and challenge
  • Managing period‑end reporting, audits and governance in line with Group standards
  • Overseeing revenue recognition, margins and NEC contracts (Options A, C & E)
  • Identifying and managing financial risk and opportunity
  • Supporting tenders, capital planning and investment decisions
  • Leading and developing a graduate project accountant
  • Driving continuous improvement, systems enhancements and smarter ways of working

  • Who we're looking for

You’ll be a confident, commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a project‑led environment.

    You’ll Bring

    • A professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA or ICAS
    • Experience operating at a senior finance level within projects or programmes
    • Strong commercial awareness — contracting or infrastructure experience is a plus
    • The confidence to partner, influence and challenge senior stakeholders
    • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving performance and processes
