Job Description
Firetail is a strategy consultancy working to achieve social progress. Our purpose is to help impact-driven organisations realise their ambitions for society. We are a certified B-Corp and member of 1% for the planet.
Since Firetail’s founding in 2005, we have worked with over 150 clients around the world on the greatest challenges facing society, from global health to climate change, from science and innovation to human rights, democracy, and digital rights. Our clients are united by the scale of their ambition and their desire for positive social progress.
Our work falls in two categories:
Firetail is looking for a Finance Manager to continue the smooth running of our finance and operations, including support on HR. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive and works closely with our team of consultants. This role is at the heart of our team and plays an essential part in the success of the business.
We envisage this role taking around 1.5 days (12 hours) per week. We can be flexible on the pattern of those hours but have a preference for candidates with availability on Mondays who are available to join our team in the London office.
Working at Firetail
Working at Firetail gives you the opportunity to make a positive contribution towards social progress. We do this by building our clients’ understanding of where they are now, where they want to get in the future, and the decisions they need to make to get there.
You will be central in helping ensure the smooth operations of our business and be a key part of our team. You will also have the opportunity to attend team days, contribute to strategy discussions, and drive commercial thinking in the team. We value each member of the team for the unique set of skills, experience, and perspectives they bring.
We are committed to supporting professional development. We are a small team, so you will have the opportunity to take on a range of different responsibilities.
Our London office is located at Princelet Street Fora in Shoreditch, London. We are open to discussing flexible working with a blend of office and remote working. We currently have at least one fixed day in the office (Monday) with the flexibility to work from home on other days. We organise team away days and social events at a regular cadence through the year.
Candidates’ starting salary will be set according to their qualifications and experience within the set range, and pro-rated to account for the part-time nature of this role. The annual leave entitlement is 25 days plus public holidays, pro-rated for this role. You will be eligible to join the company’s stakeholder pension scheme, and we will enrol you after successful completion of the probationary period.
