The Finance Manager reports to the Finance Director to support and facilitate finance team operations for the ValStream Group.
This is very much a hands-on operational role, working within a lean, value adding finance team. The role requires accuracy, timely delivery and communication and lots of enthusiasm.
The role requires a working knowledge of Xero and integrated apps and would best suit an AAT+ qualified professional with an appetite to work and grow in a dynamic, challenging start-up environment.
With a broad remit, company secretarial and core administration skills are a real plus!

The Finance team is responsible for putting in place appropriate systems and processes to keep the business financially sustainable and compliant.
The key objectives for the finance team are focused on delivering continuous improvement to drive business value.
As we enter 2026, the team are defining objectives in respect of funding, people, systems, outputs and engagement for the ValStream Group.

Role & Responsibilities
The Customer Success Director (CSD) role main responsibility is to ensure the delivery of agreed software and services to their designated customer accounts, ensuring all contractual requirements are met and proactively driving added value to their customers whilst delivering P&L targets.
Reporting to VP Customer Success with direct reporting CSM’s and account support functions from analysis, operations and product departments.
Key Responsibilities
The following reflects ValStream definition of essential deliverables and activities for this position, but this does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Bookkeeping and general
· Maintenance of bookkeeping records including the review of supporting documentation and approval of transactions in Xero and integrated apps, timely reconciliations, treasury management and expense administration
· Valued input into the development and documentation of financial policies and standard operating procedures for the finance team
· Proactively promote the visibility of the finance team to add value to the business through effective business partnering and recommendations
· Accounts payable responsibilities including
· Accounts receivable responsibilities
· Identification of opportunities and recommendations for automation of processes and sophistication of approval workflows as we gear for growth
Month end
· Month end balance sheet responsibilities including timely reconciliation of lead schedules for the group, prior to review
· Automation of standard accounting journals and bank rules on Xero
· Support the timely delivery of consolidated management information for the group and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances
· UK VAT compliance and owner of the relationship with the outsourced UK payroll bureau sales tax advisors and overseas payroll platform Gusto
Year end
· Duties include assistance with year-end actions and the preparation of robust reconciliations and other audit deliverables in coordination with the FD
Forecasting
· Assistance with monthly update of forecast model and scenario planning in coordination with the FD
· Effective cashflow management and forecast maintenance
Wider duties
· Assistance with employment related securities compliance
· Support with EIS administration and compliance
· Preparation of deliverables for R&D advisor to support tax credit claim
· Support with investor materials in coordination with the Finance Director
Assistance with the maintenance of statutory books and company secretarial support for the business
Person Specification
· AAT+ qualified or with demonstrably similar level of technical knowledge
· Successful track record operating as finance manager level within a small team
· Strong IT skills including a working knowledge of SharePoint, Xero and integrated apps and advance excel
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Strong work ethic and a commitment to ValStream mission and values
· Comfortable taking on new challenges and keen to learn new skills
· Ability to prioritise and deliver
· Strong knowledge of UK GAAP including revenue recognition, leases and right of use assets, intercompany transactions and development capitalisation
· Proven capability working within:
o an innovative start-up, gearing for growth
o a paperless setting
o an international group dealing with multiple currencies and local compliance
