Insight Global are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a leading manufacturing organisation based in the Southampton area. This role will play a key part within a small UK finance function, supporting core accounting operations and providing financial insight across the business.
This opportunity requires 5 days/week onsite in Southampton, UK.
This is a permanent position.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee core day‑to‑day UK accounting operations
- Perform bookkeeping duties including bank journals, VAT, sales invoices and ledgers
- Conduct variance analysis and cost of goods sold analysis
- Support headcount and operational forecasting
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for the manufacturing organisation
- Collaborate closely with the UK CFO and US finance team
- Assist in ensuring smooth period‑end closing and financial accuracy across the business
Must‑Have Requirements Include:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA required)
- Strong knowledge of accounting and GAAP principles, including A/R invoicing, A/P ledger management and cost of goods sold
- Experience supporting financial and operational forecasting, including headcount forecasting and variance analysis
- Experience with financial reporting, planning and analysis within a manufacturing environment
- Background working within small–mid size businesses (approx. £15–75M turnover)
- High proficiency with MS Office/Excel and accounting software
- A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to ask the right questions and drive clarity
