The role:
We have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst to work in the Finance function to coordinate activities involving financial overhead plans for our business.
This role is to provide coverage during maternity leave within the RMS UK Overhead team.
The role in question covers key Overhead planning activities, including running the Overhead Common Support budget, Resources tracking support to MOD Rates Audit submissions, other overhead and budget tracking, and Ad hoc tasks.
We are hiring a dedicated fixed term role for a maternity-leave period with handover as its essential to keep these functions running, to maintain current levels of operational efficiency.
The duties of this position would focus on Overhead planning tasks for assigned entities under the supervision of an associate manager.
The role involves financial analysis of historical data as well as forecasting and variance reporting.
The analyst will have essential input to the monthly reporting process of overheads, rates, and resources, and be able to present information to management.
There will be a great deal of use of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel spreadsheets, as well as other financial systems (i.e. SAP).
What skills will I need?
- You should have a substantial knowledge of the financial field and have an ability to perform multiple financial tasks.
- Analytical skills are essential, particularly with respect to forecasting, and there must be an aptitude for problem solving.
- You should be very proficient with financial IT applications (i.e. Excel spreadsheets including Macros).
- You must be able to communicate well with others and operate with only general supervision.
- In addition, strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are critical.
