Junior–Mid Finance Assistant (Contract 2+ months) – Remote (England Only)

We are looking for an immediately available Junior–Mid level Finance Assistant to join our Payments clients team on a contract basis, supporting day-to-day finance operations within a payments / FX fintech environment.

This role requires someone who can start immediately (next week) and has prior experience working within a payments or foreign exchange fintech.

Key Details

Contract: Day rate contract
Rate: Up to £150 per day
Location: Fully remote – must be based in England
Start: Immediate start (next week)

Key Responsibilities

Supporting daily finance operations and reconciliations
Assisting with month-end processes
Supporting payroll administration

Handling bookkeeping tasks

Managing invoicing processes

Processing pre-payments and post-payments

Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Assisting with payment runs and ledger management

Performing bank and wallet reconciliations

Supporting financial reporting and data preparation

Working closely with the finance team on operational finance tasks

Requirements

18+ months experience working in finance within a payments or FX fintech
Strong Excel skills (comfortable working with financial data, reconciliations, and reporting)
Experience supporting operational finance / accounting tasks
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume financial data
Comfortable working remotely and independently
Based in England with the right to work (no sponsorship available

)

Nice to Have

Experience using Sage accounting software
Experience with payment platforms, wallets, or FX reconciliation
Exposure to fintech accounting systems or finance tools
Experience working in fast-paced startup environments

Interview Process (same day/24 hours)

Qualification call (15–20 minutes) with X4 Recruitment
Video interview (30 minutes) with the client
