The Opportunity:

The Global Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the Escode division. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is responsible for leading accounting, financial reporting, and internal control function, as well as overseeing tax compliance and treasury activities. The role ensures adherence to statutory requirements while providing robust financial management to support strategic decision-making.


In partnership with the divisional leadership team and group corporate functions, the Global Financial Controller will establish and maintain a financial control and management accounting framework that upholds the highest standards of integrity and rigor. This includes delivering accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights to guide effective decision-making and fostering a culture of excellence in financial reporting.


Additionally, the role involves leading a high-performing team, committed to continuously improving global business processes and enhancing leadership capabilities within the finance function.


Key Accountabilities:


Leadership :

  • Lead and enhance the management and financial accounting function, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership and development for a team of four accountants and two finance assistants, tax, account payables and banking specialists ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and senior operational leadership team to support strategic decision-making.

Financial Reporting, Audit & Internal Control:

  • Own and deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual close process
  • Prepare and review management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary
  • Managing Statutory Accounts and Tax Compliance Across Multiple Jurisdictions. Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of statutory accounts and tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring full compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies. Coordinate with external advisors, and auditors to address the complexities of varying regulatory requirements across numerous entities.
  • Establish robust processes to streamline reporting, manage risks, and maintain consistency in financial reporting globally while addressing the unique compliance challenges of each jurisdiction. This includes staying up to date with evolving tax and accounting regulations to ensure the organization’s practices remain compliant and efficient.
  • Strengthen and maintain the internal control environment by implementing robust standards, documentation, and systems to ensure accurate daily and monthly reporting across multiple platforms.

Treasury & Working Capital:

  • Manage and deliver forecasts for working capital, cash flow, and balance sheet positions, providing critical insights to support decision-making.
  • Oversee bank accounts, mandates, and signatory controls

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance:

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for capital expenditure and corporate cost centres, providing strategic financial planning and analysis to inform business direction.
  • Partner with departmental heads to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance profitability.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Oversee and support the Accounts Receivable and Invoicing processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with HR and Payroll to manage payroll processes from a financial perspective.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial, operational, and reporting systems and business processes, ensuring they deliver complete, accurate, and actionable insights across the business


Minimum Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Solid understating of corporate tax and VAT
  • Analytical Thinking & Attention to Detail
  • Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Engagement to finance and non-finance audiences
  • Experience working with auditors and tax advisors
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills in a global environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and regulatory reporting
  • Proven track record in managing multi-jurisdictional finance operations
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and change management
