The Role

As Group Finance Controller, you will lead the operational finance function across Kara Healthcare, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, and robust governance across our growing portfolio of homes. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the senior leadership team, you will drive financial discipline, enhance reporting capability, and ensure compliance across all entities within the group. This is a hands on leadership role requiring technical excellence, commercial awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, multi site care environment.


You will play a key role in supporting growth, strengthening internal controls, and embedding financial best practice to ensure sustainable, high quality care delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead group financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Oversee month end processes, management accounts, and performance analysis across all homes.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and governance frameworks are embedded.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Support cashflow management and working capital optimisation.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight and improve cost control.
  • Lead audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors.
  • Develop, mentor, and strengthen the finance team to ensure high performance and succession planning.
  • Support systems improvements and finance process transformation initiatives.


About You

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader within multi site operations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and consolidation experience.
  • Experience within health and social care, healthcare, or regulated environments desirable.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to translate data into meaningful insight.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Detail focused with high standards of accuracy and integrity.
