Interim Financial Controller – General Insurance
London | 2–3 days per week onsite | Immediate start
NSCG has been appointed to search for an Interim Financial Controller for a growing insurance group. This is a hands-on, operationally focused mandate, suited to an individual who thrives in the detail while capable of leading high‑quality financial reporting across a complex, regulated environment.
This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or a strong Financial Reporting Manager ready to step up into a broader leadership remit.
The Opportunity
The Interim Financial Controller will take ownership of the financial control and reporting framework across multiple entities within the Group. Working closely with the CFO, you will ensure that all statutory, regulatory, Solvency II, and Group reporting is delivered accurately, on time, and to an exceptional standard.
This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role, where your expertise in UK GAAP, Solvency II, general insurance reporting, audits and controls
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end financial control environment across all Group entities.
- Deliver high-quality financial reporting, including monthly close, management reporting, and Board‑level insight.
- Oversee statutory accounts, UK GAAP compliance, and external audit processes.
- Own and deliver Solvency II and wider regulatory reporting (PRA, FCA, Companies House).
- Strengthen and streamline financial processes, controls, and documentation.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting automation, and data integrity.
- Provide effective leadership to the finance team, supporting performance, development, and delivery.
Your Background
We are seeking an interim professional who brings:
- General insurance sector experience (essential).
- Strong technical capability in UK GAAP
