About the Role

We’re seeking a Financial Controller who brings strong technical skills and rigour to our financial reporting, instilling best practice and value-driving insights.

This is a hands-on role working on all aspects of financial management, control and reporting on all 8 entities of the group. The role holder will be responsible for the timely delivery of accurate accounting and finance tasks and processes.

The role holder will report to the Head of Financial Control, and will be based at our London office.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Be accountable for the month-end (and year-end) process and ensure quality control
• Be hands-on with bookkeeping including actioning of postings and control of accuracy
• Review monthly payroll, deliver journals entries and account reconciliations
• Contribute and control weekly bank reconciliations
• Run finance operations processes such as prepayment, fixed assets, general ledger
• Deliver all Balance Sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly management accounts process
• Analyse monthly P&L results at entity level, providing variance analysis against budget and detailed commentary.
• Run intercompany process
• Prepare cash forecast and assist in cash management
• Assist with tax compliance obligations
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, including providing recommendations in line with best practice
• Provide ad hoc management information
• Be an effective team player across the Finance team and the broader organization

Essential skills and requirements

• Recently fully qualified or qualification finalist with ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualification overseas
• 3+ years of professional experience in accounting and finance
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
• Comfortable with multi-currency transactions and conversion metrics
• Familiarity with UK GAAP, ideally broader international finance exposure
• Key competencies sought: attention to detail, team player attitude, solution orientation, proactivity and drive, ability to deliver information under time constraints
• NetSuite proficiency would be ideal, hands-on experience with other systems beneficial
